Description:   The Living Healthy with Diabetes Self-Management Education Program is a workshop given two and a half hours, once a week, for six weeks, in community settings such as senior centers, churches, libraries and hospitals. People with Type 2 Diabetes attend the workshops, facilitated by two trained leaders, one or both of whom are peer leaders with diabetes themselves.

Participants can expect to learn:
– Healthier eating and develop personal Action Plans.
– Problem solving and medication management.
– New techniques for managing symptoms of fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia, stress, anger, fear, and frustration related to your diabetes.

Classes are highly interactive, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives.

Note: Living Healthy with Diabetes does not conflict with existing programs or treatment and is designed to complement your existing plans.
