High Country Area Agency on Aging - Virtual
We are excited about starting monthly skill building workshops to support our Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention (TCAFP) Programs. The intent of these sessions is to enhance our statewide community of TCAFP instructors through offering a platform for questions and discussion as well as skill building and practice ideas. Each session will center around the idea of taking a “deep dive” into exploring the different movements or forms of the TCAFP program. I will provide a review of the movement, different approaches for how to experience and teach the movement and how to apply the various tai chi principles to each. This is a really fun way to start pulling back some of the layers that make tai chi so magical and appealing. I believe this will help improve your own practice and experience with tai chi and thus help you grow as an instructor.
Please note, these workshops will be offered as live webinars only. I am not able to record and share later. The intended audience is certified TCAFP instructors, but I am open to having those who may have let their certification lapse or those planning to become certified in the near future. This is not intended for TCAFP participants, nor is it a substitution for TCAFP Certification/ Recertification with a TCHI Master Trainer. This is designed for certified instructors teaching through regional Area Agencies on Aging and/or Senior Centers supported by IIID funding and who are committed to teaching per federal grant guidelines.
