Description: A Matter of Balance is an evidence-based program for older adults who are worried about falling. This eight session class helps older adults who live independently to overcome their fear of falls and increase their physical activity by learning about how to get rid of falls hazards in the home, talk to health care providers about falls risk, create an individual physical activity plan and how to get up after a fall. Participants will also learn and practices exercises that strengthen the muscles that are linked to balance. This program is provided by Chatham Council on Aging and UNC Trauma Program.
Dates: The first session begins April 13, 2021 and will continue each Tuesday and Thursday until May 11, 2021.
