Many adults may experience a fear of falling. When this fear develops, adults often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. A Matter of Balance is a program designed to reduce fear of falling, increase activity levels among adults, and improve flexibility, balance, and strength. Participants learn to view falls as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance. Class will meet twice a week for 4 weeks. Each class is 2 hours.
Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, October 4 to October 27, 2022 for a total of 8 sessions.
Time: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm with a 8 to 10 minute break
